Why I Teach:

Teaching is so important to me because it’s more than just a job, it’s a way to make a real difference in the lives of students. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to inspire curiosity, nurture growth, and help young minds discover their potential. I love seeing students develop confidence, overcome challenges, and find joy in learning, and being a part of that journey reminds me why I chose this path. Teaching allows me to combine my passion, creativity, and heart, and it gives meaning to all the effort, reflection, and learning I pour into my own growth as a teacher.

All About Me

I’m Bethany! Teaching is more than just what I do, it’s a big part of who I am. Every day in the classroom teaches me something new about my students, about education, and about myself. I’ve learned to be patient, resilient, and creative, especially in moments that challenge me or push me out of my comfort zone. Every experience, whether a small win or a tricky situation, has shaped me and helped me grow, not just as a teacher, but as a person.

I care deeply about connecting with others, listening, and understanding different perspectives, and these qualities guide both my teaching and the way I live my life. Reflection has become a big part of who I am; thinking about what worked, what didn’t, and how I can do better helps me grow every single day. I celebrate the small victories, learn from the challenges, and embrace every moment that shapes me along the way.

This blog is my space to share that journey with you, the lessons I’ve learnt, the moments that surprise me, and the experiences that remind me why I love what I do. I hope it gives you a sense of who I am, both in the classroom and as a person, and maybe even inspires you to reflect on your own journey too. I’m still learning, growing, and becoming the teacher, and person, I’m meant to be, one day at a time
